Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up. "To love ourselves and support each other in the process of becoming real is perhaps the greatest single act of daring greatly." Brene Brown.
"I continually feel like I dare to show up in my life after coming to the retreat. When I am scared, I have a tribe to turn to for support. Shame is not in the driver's seat any more in my life." Ann Why join the Daring Sisters? Research and personal lived experiences report that blindness can be an isolating experience for many individuals. The Daring Sisters offers a space for deep connection, adventure and support for women who are blind / low vision. The retreat is just the beginning of the connection. Following an initial retreat, the women build lasting friendships through additional groups: Book Club, Writing Group, Yoga Class, Gardening Class, Connection Calls, Technology Tips and Sharing, Cooking Class, ... the groups continue to grow. It is a sisterhood supporting one another on the journey. How do you join? Reach out to us and we will be happy to answer any of your questions and help you sign up for one of our retreats. Email: Taylor - [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Who are the Daring Sisters? A community of women who are blind / low vision. Since 2016, the Daring Sisters have held 30 retreats in Park City, Bountiful Utah, Sandy, Oregon and virtually 189 women have attended both in person and virtual retreats (many have attended more than one retreat). Our initial retreat is based on Daring to Own Your Story TM where we explore how we want to show up, live brave, and be our authentic selves and support other women to do the same. Deep meaningful conversations facilitated by Becky Andrews, LCMHC (www.resilientsolutionsinc.com) and Melissa Taussig, LCPC are combined with activities for lasting connection. Vision: Blind Women cultivating courageous living and authentic connections with each other and the world. Mission: Through our individual and collective lived experiences, Daring Sisters offer women with blindness or low vision the opportunity to define and embrace their own stories. We begin our shared community experience with participation in a Daring to Own Your Story TM retreat, and create additional opportunities for validating, supporting, connecting and empowering. We provide opportunities for social, emotional and physical growth and learning while honoring each individual's journey. How do you join our Daring Sisters community? First step is to attend a Daring to Own Your Story TM Retreat held virtually or in person.
